Dr Bamanga Tukur, the National Chairman of PDP, has described the death of  Alhaji Tukur Bodinga, the party`s Chairman in Sokoto State, as a great loss.

The chairman said  in a statement by Mr Olisa Metuh, the party`s National Publicity Secretary, in Abuja on Thursday  that Bodinga was a great asset to the people in  Sokoto State and PDP.

``The demise of Bodinga is not only a great loss to Sokoto State and the PDP members but also to Nigeria in general,’’ the statement said.

It said  words could not express the invaluable contributions of Bodinga to the development of democracy in Sokoto State and the propagation of the party`s values and principles.

It added that the visionary and just leadership he gave during the party’s last congress and gubernatorial election could not be quantified.

Tukur  condoled with members of Bodinga’s family, the Sokoto State chapter of PDP, the state governor, AlhajiAliyu Wamakko,  and the people of the state.

The statement prayed Almighty Allah to forgive Bodinga his sins and shortcomings’’ and also grant his family  the fortitude to bear the great loss’’. (NAN)
