Although it will be difficult for Angelina not having her mother there to watch her walk down the aisle, she must no doubt find comfort in the fact that her father Jon Voight will be there to support her.
The two fell out some years back and weren’t on speaking terms for some time, but after becoming a mother herself - and following a few encouraging words from Brad - Angelina patched things up with her dad, who is now one of the chosen few who is thought to have been invited to stay at the couple’s estate during the celebrations. ‘I’m very happy for them; 73-year-old Jon gushed when he heard their new . ‘We love each other, and that’s the important thing.’
Other people close enough to Angelina to have been assigned a room at her home include her brother James Haven, uncle Chip Taylor and her godparents, British actress Jacqueline Bisset and Austrian actor Maximilian Schell. Meanwhile, Brad has reportedly given rooms at the chateau to a handful of family members, including his father Bill, mother Jane, brother Doug and sister Julie.
The final draft of the guest list is thought to have up to 300 names on it, including some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Brad’s close pals George Clooney and Matt Damon will be expecting an invite, along with Angelina’s friend Gwen Stefani, who attended the premiere of her directorial debut in The Land Of Blood And Honey.
Angelina confessed recently that she struggles when it comes to making friends with women, admitting that she doesn’t ‘really have any girlfriends’ and that she’s ‘not very social’, So if she were to ask Gwen to be her maid of honour, we doubt it would come as a shock to many. ‘Somehow [Gwen and I] keep ending up pregnant at the exact same time,’ admitted Angelina, who ha been spotted with the singer on numerous occasions along with their children.
There will be some other less familiar faces in attendance, no doubt including Angelina’s Liverpudlian friend Eunice Huthart - the two met on the set of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, when Eunice was Angelina’s stunt double, and have maintained a close friendship ever since, The star has been to visit her friend in Liverpool and has dined at her restaurant, ‘I made Angelina our chicken chorizo and she loved it,’ revealed Eunice, ‘She keeps saying: “Do you still sell that? I’ll have to come up and have it:” Perhaps an indication of what Brad and Angelina’s guests can expect to be served on their big day?
People who are’ wondering who Brad’s best man will be have started to point the finger at his close pal George Clooney. ‘Brad is one of the great guys and we’re good friends,’ George gushed when speaking about his pal.
However, he then added that their friendship is ‘different from what people think’, ‘We don’t spend a lot of time together, He has been to my home in Como, we motorcycle together, But until recently I hadn’t seen Brad in a year: So perhaps it is more likely that his best man will be his only brother Doug, who was also his best man at his wedding to Jennifer Amston.
One of the biggest details of the wedding that everyone is talking about is naturally what dress Angelina will choose to wear, No doubt designers will be fighting for the chance to create a gown for one of the biggest wedding Hollywood has ever seen,
When it comes to the red carpet, Angelina has shown that her favourite designers are Versace and Jenny Packham, But after the attention she received when she wore a Versace gown to the Oscars earlier this year, on which the slit was so revealing fans created a Twitter page for her right leg, we have a feeling she might opt for a design by Jenny Packham, ‘I am such a fan of Angelina so obviously I am thrilled she wears my designs: Jenny gushed, Angelina hasn’t revealed who’ll be designing the most important dress she’ll have worn to date, but we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground until she does!
