Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada has been advised not to handle any corrupt government official with kid gloves, urging him to fight corruption headlong.

The state chairman of Kogi Youth Progressive Association, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim gave the advice over the weekend, while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja, on the activities of the association.

He lauded the bold initiative so far taken by the administration to rekindle the hope of the  people of the state, disclosing that it was no longer business as usual.

He added that considering the exposure of the governor and his deputy, criminal elements who had stalled the progress of the state should be made accountable.

Bello further noted that the approach to governance by Captain Wada within few months in office had stood him out as a visionary leader.

According to him, following the dissolution of the state executive council, appointments were specified with requisite qualifications and experience, stressing that if the new arrangement was fully implemented, the transformation agenda of the present administration would be a success.

He lamented that the state, with the highest solid mineral deposits in the country and highly mobile and intelligent population, could be made to wallow in abject poverty due to the misrule of some  past administrations.

The youth leader disclosed that the association had developed a comprehensive programme that would assist the government on how best to enhance the living condition of the youths, as well as how to mobilize them to contribute meaningfully towards the development of the state.
