After barely one year in office, Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State on Wednesday in Gombe inaugurated 12 committees to assess the performance of ministries and agencies in the state.
Speaking while inaugurating the committees, Dankwambo said the committees' terms of reference were to gauge achievements made following the recommendation of the committees set up last June by the government.
The committees are also to identify critical policies or programmes deficit, arising from implementation of the action plan and suggest remedies.
They are equally to make other observations and recommendations as may be incidental to the assignment.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the committees are on the Civil Service, Commerce, Education, Security and Youth Empowerment.
Others are Water Resources, Revenue Generation and Economic Development, Local Government Administration,Works, Housing, Transport and Rural Development, Women and Children and Health.
In his response on behalf of the committee members , Prof. Baba Yusuf, promised to justify the confidence reposed on the committee members by the government. (NAN)
