The President General of  the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Peter Esele, has accused the ruling elite in the country of creating inequality and exploitation in Nigeria.

Comrade Esele, who spoke during 2012 May Day celebration, expressed the congress’ concern that current educational system was being used as weapon to perpetuate this inequity which he described as a crime against humanity.

According to him, a nation that wants to play in the big league of the industrialized nations in a few years time, but does not take the creation of adequate human capacities and capabilities to drive the push is not serious.

“Our educational system has not only become moribund both in terms of physical infrastructure and equipment, but has consistently delivered obsolete and poor tuition and curriculum contents to the citizenry guaranteeing failure and joblessness to its helpless victim.”
