NAFDAC Begins Data Capturing Of Companies In Kwara

The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Kwara State has commenced data capturing of all companies operating in the state.

The state director of NAFDAC, Mrs. Malomo Odu, disclosed this at the weekend in Ilorin during an interaction session with manufacturers, importers, exporters, master bakers and pharmacists.

She added that the agency was embarking on the programme to ensure effective regulation and control of companies operating in the state.

She added that “the data gathered will assist to obtain certain basic information for planning and research purposes. It will also assist to bridge communication gap between NAFDAC and her stakeholders.”

She said the exercise commences between and June 29 this year, and that the process was compulsory for all companies operating in the state. Odu noted that data to be captured include the names, addresses, photographs and e-mail addresses of proprietors or owner of the company.

She explained that the data capturing will cost the companies between N5, 000 to N10, 000 to be paid into the bank account of the agency.

The director warned companies selling chemicals and explosives to register their companies with NAFDAC in their own interest or face the wrath of the agency.
