NAFDAC Commissions N70m Apapa Complex

The nation’s agency in charge of drugs and food regulation  has moved to check accommodation challenges bedeviling its directorates, with the completion of an office complex in Apapa, Lagos, worth about N70 million.

The complex built by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is located on Mobil Road and serves as home for the Enforcement Directorate. The Directorate had been without an office and squatting in various places after fire gutted the Federal Secretariat  and   the   NAFDAC  Office   there   in   Ikoyi   in   2003.

The site was donated to the agency by the Federal Government, after the agency made case for a permenent office accommodation. The site harboured a disused structure, which was resident to social miscreants.

On taking over the site, the dilapidated structure was demolished and in its place, Messrs Matek Limited built new offices while Messrs Tatewood Nigeria Limited equipped the offices with modern  furniture.
