Robbers Cart Away N3.2m Salary Of Village Heads

There was pandemonium, yesterday, in Sokoto, when two suspected robbers stormed  Giginya Secretariat and broke the windscreen of a Toyota Camry car and carted away over N3.2 million   believed to be the salary of village heads in the state.

Though, no casualty was recorded during the operation but hundreds of workers in the premises of the ministry of health were thrown into confusion.

The suspected robbers  stormed the secretariat with their Honda Discussion Continues Car and headed  to where the  Toyota Camry was parked in the premises of the ministry and made away with the money.

An eyewitness  told LEADERSHIP that she  observed the two men  survey the area and broke the windscreen of the car and took the  money kept in the boot. while one of the  robbers  who was holding sophisticated weapon was busy  surveying the area even as she raised the alarm.

According to her, when she raised the alarm people  panicked  and started running helter-skelter while the rubbers drove away through the express way.

When contacted by our correspondent the Police in Sokoto said  the command was yet to be briefed on the nature of the robbery.
