Octogenarian Docked Over Alleged Stealing Of N20,000 Rubber Stamp

An octogenarian, Mr Sunday Enimakure, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly stealing rubber stamp and stamp pad valued at N20,000.

Enimakure, 84, of no fixed address is facing a four-count charge of conspiracy breach of peace, forgery and stealing.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp. Fola Takunbe, told the court that the accused planned to sell family lands belonging to the Adejupe ruling house, Igbomogun, Ikorodu, without the consent of members and head of the family.

Takunbe said that the octogenarian also stole a rubber stamp and stamp pad valued at N20, 000 belonging to the family.

He said that the accused forged four receipt booklets with the inscription of the family name.

The prosecutor said that the offences were committed on or before May 10 at Igbomogun village, Oreta, Ikorodu.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 166(d), 285, 363 and 409, Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

Magistrate Ademola Adesanya granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till May 31. (NAN)
