It was a night to remember as the Chairman, Editor-in-Chief of LEADERSHIP Newspapers, Group Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, on Friday hosted his friends and family to a cocktail party.

The occasion was part of events marking his 50 years birthday celebration. The event was held at the prestigious Banana Republic, Asokoro, Abuja.

Dignitaries at the occasion showered encomiums on the celebrant as they spoke to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY.

Chairman, AMF Trust & Investment Limited, Alhaji Alfa Zachari said, ”Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah is hardworking, a true Nigerian, and if it were possible, he would have solved the problem we are facing in this country, and Nigeria would have been a better place for us.

I pray that God should grant him good health and more years for him to carry on this noble assignment. His newspaper, LEADERSHIP has made impact in this country, because it has made Nigerians, including the government to sit up. We urge him to continue with the truth.”

The General Manager, Rosehill Group, Alhaji Mohammed Jumba, said, “Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah is a trail-blazer, and somebody who has tried to write his name on the sand of time.

He started a business which is not hitherto common in the northern part of the country, because newspapers that came before LEADERSHIP could not survive due to bad management, but he has shown an uncommon understanding of journalism, and that is why it has survived this far.

My encouragement to him is to be steadfast, honest, chart new courses, and also be an encouragement to upcoming journalists in Nigeria.”

Chairman, Niger Group (Nig) Limited, Engr. Y. Y. Sani said, “We are celebrating as family and friends to share together Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah’s 50 years experience, to wish him the best, and to express our friendship, cherish his life, and pray that he lives to see more years ahead.

We encourage him to do more on what he is doing, because we believe is a service to the nation, and let him wax stronger to bring out the best in terms of balanced reportage for which LEADERSHIP is known for.”

Chairman, Muregi Associates, Dr. Hussaini Muhammed, said, “I have known Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah quiet long, when we were at school, and he has not changed that much; his views are obviously strong, especially on social issues as it relates to Nigeria about change.

I am glad that we are here for what he represents. My encouragement to him is to continue what he is doing, because Nigeria needs change, and he represents that change.”

The Political and Economic Officer, British High Commission, Abuja, Mrs. Claudia Spawls, said, “Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah is very informed, eloquent and quite an interesting man. I cherish and respect his point of view. He should carry on, because he has impacted greatly in the Nigerian society through his medium, and his newspaper is wonderful, as we always read it at the embassy.”
