Edo State Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has urged the electorates ahead of the July 14 gubernatorial election to vote on the basis of what he described as “eye mark and not hear say” in order to sustain and consolidate on the achievements recorded in the last three and half years of the Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN), administration.
Oshiomhole who made these remarks at his re-election rallies in Orhionmwon and Ikpoba Okha Local Government Areas of the state said a responsible government must be judged on the basis of development. He noted that his administration has succeeded in replacing politics of sentiments with politics of issues.
While seeking the mandate of the large crowd that had gathered, the governor recalled, “Just three and half years ago, they used to boast that if not for the judicial pronouncement, I would not have been the governor. Today, we have conducted three elections from 2007 till date and we won in all, in Edo State with the broom we have swept away the forces of darkness, those who thought only yesterday, that they were god have lost their voices.”
Former minister of foreign affairs and a national leader of the party, Chief Tom Ikimi, while urging the people to vote massively for the ACN adding that the principle of “one man, one vote,” must be strictly adhered to.
Earlier at Orhionmwon Council Secretariat, the Association of Enigies led by HRH Edogie Ogieguo expressed their support for the return bid of the comrade governor.
The rally which witnessed a large turnout of ACN supporters also saw some members of PDP in the locality, declaring for the ACN.
