The world Bank has commended Delta State government for its infrastructural development and promised to partner with it in sustaining the tempo to improve the wellbeing of the people
The World Bank Director, Financial and Private Sector development African Region, Giav Tata, who made the promise when he led a 3-man delegation to pay Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan a courtesy call in Asaba, said the visit was aimed at strengthening the partnership.
He explained that the World Bank would partner with the state to improve the living standard of Deltans and empower them especially in the areas of capacity building, Macro- Credit Scheme and Technical Support.
“This visit to Delta State is to enable the World Bank strengthen the partnership existing between us and know the areas which we can assist you to enhance the economic development of the state.”
Mr. Tata commended the state governor for the different programmes put on ground to ensure development in the state.
In his remark, the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan commended the World Bank for the interest it had developed in Delta state and assured that his administration was committed to transparency and improving the living standard of Deltans.
He requested the World Bank to assist in attracting investors to the state as well as support such investors to function successfully in executing their investments.
The governor also requested the World Bank to assist the state with technical expertise and in capacity building.
