Mr Frank Mba, the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, however, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that nothing criminating was found on the suspect to suggest that he was a suicide bomber.
NAN reports that speculations had spread round the FCT after the arrest that Salihu was a suicide bomber.
``When we searched him, no explosive was found on him but there were pieces of broken bottle, bottled water, five Automated Teller Machine cards and a vehicle number plate in the bag he was carrying.
``We have commenced investigations into the arrest but so far, there is nothing to suggest that he (suspect) is a suicide bomber,’’ Mba said.
He said that the suspect had been taken into custody and that investigations would establish his mission to the Lious Edet house.
Meanwhile, men from the FCT Police Command have arrested one John Akpanum Akalu at the Radio House where the ministers were briefing newsmen on the achievements of their ministries in the past one year.
The police alleged that Akalu, 39, was in possession of three hand grenades and 37 rounds of live ammunition.
He was arrested shortly after the Minister of Youth Development, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, mounted the podium.
Mba urged Nigerians to go about their businesses without fear, assuring them that the police had enough personnel to guarantee their security.
