Three persons suspected to be members of a notorious armed robbery gang based in Lagos were Wednesday arrested by a the Anti- Robbery Squad of Bayelsa State Police command over alleged cases of inter-border robbery.
The trio, 25 year-old Believe Okereno, 2-year-old Solomon and 24-year-old Christian Atima all from Isoko in Delta state had sneaked into Yenagoa from Lagos and carried out the operation that led to their arrest.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Olakpe the three suspected robbers had flagged down a Mazda 323 along Elebele road pretending to be interested in taking a drop. As soon as the driver stopped they trained a gun on him and ordered him to get out.
Before they escaped, their victim was shot several times. However, he did not die and raised alarm which prompted the people to call in SARS and the tracking devise installed in the vehicle was used to trailed the robbers to where they were apprehended.
