Burkina Faso is scheduled to begin the biometric registration of voters in readiness for the legislative and municipal elections on Dec. 2.
A statement issued by the country's National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) said that the process would begin on June 1 to Aug. 11.
CENI urged political parties and civil society organisations to be involved in the sensitisation campaign to enable the people who have attained the voting age to register as voters.
The initial date to begin the voter registration was May 21, but due to disagreements between CENI and the company that had been contracted to carry out the registration, CENI decided to recruit another company to carry out the registration. (Xinhua/NAN)
