A 32-year-old factory assistant, Mr Tunde Oluwadiya, on Friday dragged his wife, Ronke Oluwadiya, before the Ikorodu Customary Court, Lagos, seeking the dissolution of their five-year-old marriage.
Oluwadiya, who lives at Beach road, Ikorodu, pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage on the grounds of desertion by his wife for over two years.
“She left me because she discovered that we are of the same genotype, AS. Before that time, she had earlier told me that we were not meant for each other,’’ he told the court.
The wife, Ronke, a business woman, who lives at Isawo community, Agric, Ikorodu, agreed with the husband’s allegation and also urged the court to separate them.
“My husband lied to me that his genotype was AA but I later discovered that he was AS, while I am also AS.
“Luckily for us we had a child that is AA. I don’t want him again because I don’t want to have a child with the genotype AS.
“I left him because his mother and siblings were very cruel to me. I never had rest of mind in the marriage,’’ she said.
The Court President, Mrs Remilekun Adesanya, told the couple to remain at peace and adjourned the case to June 4 for possible reconciliation.
