Hajiya Thayibba Shehu Kaikai, the mother of Miss Farida Kaikai who died in the ill-fated Dana plane crash, yesterday recalled how her daughter had called her GSM line Saturday evening to inform her about the Sunday trip to Lagos for a one-week-long workshop.
Farida Kaikai who was employed at the Aso Savings Mortgage Bank in Abuja upon concluding her National Youth Service Corps at the same establishment, boarded the ill-fated plane from Abuja to Lagos after bidding her parents goodbye.
Apart from calling the mother, the late Farida had also sent a text message to her father, Alhaji Shehu Kaikai, to inform him of the plan to travel to Lagos for the workshop.
The mother, who struggled to speak with LEADERSHIP, said: “The news of her death came to me as a shock. It is sad news.
“My daughter was very humble, lovable and very obedient to the core.
“She called me on Saturday to inform me of her intention to travel to Lagos for a workshop from her office, Aso Savings, and that she would be in Lagos for a one-week workshop, and that was our last conversion.
“She is my third child, she is an Economics graduate; she did her master’s in England, she did her NYSC in Aso Savings and, after her service, the company employed her.”
