The Management of NNPC says it is not aware of any report asking it to refund N3.098 trillion to the Fderation Account.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Fidel Pepple, the Acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs, of the corporation, on Thursday in Abuja.
The said report is alleged to be part of a recommendation of the House of Representatives Joint Committees on Finance, Petroleum Upstream, Petroleum Downstream, and Gas Resources.
The report alleged that the NNPC failed to remit the said amount to the Federation Account between 2004 and 2011.
The statemen, however, said that the NNPC as a corporate organisation, would not be drawn into speculations and rumours but try to set the record straight.
``NNPC is undaunted in its resolve to continue to render her statutory duties to the nation while contributing more than 90 per cent of the nation’s foreign earning, ’’the statement said.
It advised the media to always cross check facts before going to press, especially in view of the damage that unsubstantiated reports could do to the corporation, the industry and the nation. (NAN)
