LEADERSHIP WEEKEND investigations have revealed that Imo State tops the list of the victims of the Dana ghastly plane crash.
According to our findings, at least 23 passengers out of the 153 that boarded the plane were from Imo State.
Prominent among them were Dr. Levi Ajuonuna, group managing director of NNPC from Ideato South and Prof. Celestine Onwuliri, former Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology (FUTO), who hails from Ahiazu Mbaise LGA.
Also involved were the wife and daughter of a former governorship aspirant in the state, Mrs. Jenifer Ike Ibe and Echeidu Ibe respectively.
Others were Mr. Onyeka Anyene, Mrs. Maimuna Anyene, Noah Anyene, Kamsisoyona, Kamgenotochi Anyene. All victims are said to hail from the same family in Ngor Okpala local government area of the state.
Similarly, the families of Onyeagocha in Owerri West local government of the state also lost two of their daughters, Chidinma and Ogechi, while the Enuma family from Okigwe local government area lost Ebuka and Sunday.
A family from Oru East lost two of their loved ones Ngozi and Okeke to the ill fated flight.
Mr. Dike Chinwe (SAN) from Njaba; Mr. Godwin Eke (Ngor Okpala); Onyeriri Oluchi (Nkwere); Njoku Ogechi (Ikeduru) Njoku Charles (Ikeduru) Mr. Okocha Christopher, Philip Chukwuebuka (Okigwe) and Ike Ochonogo made up the 23 victims from the state.
