Gov. Murtala Nyako of Adamawa has submitted the list of 27 commissioners and 50 special advisers to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
A letter to the house, read by Speaker Ahmadu Fintiri during Monday plenary session contained the names of six former commissioners.
They are; Alhaji Abdurahman Shu’aibu, Dr Lawan Hamidu, Mr Ibrahim Tahir, Mr Gabriel Hama-Adama, Alhaji Abdurahman Abba and Aljaji Tijjani Maksh.
The former Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Aminu Iyawa also made the list of commissioner nominees.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that seven women also made the list of the would- be commissioners.
Some political observers, who spoke with NAN on the issue, described the number of women in the state executive council as the highest in the history of the state.
The women are; Mrs Lilian Stephen, Mrs Jummai Philips, Mrs Talatu Yohanna, Mrs Magaret Zombatu, Hajiya Halima Mohammed, Mrs Lucy Ishaku and Mrs Arziki Sawa.
NAN also reports that the house also received the list of nominees as Administrators and Secretaries of the 35 Development Areas in the state.
The house also passed the Bill to amend the Adamawa State Local Government Establishment and Administration Law of 2004.
It adjusted the tenure of Development Area Administrators and Secretaries from six months to one year.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has directed the Clerk of the house to communicate to commissioner nominees to submit 30 copies of their CVs to the house and to appear on Tuesday for screening.(NAN)
