Dana Crash: Transporters Battle To Contain VIP Passengers

Road transportation which has never been the delight of the Nigerian elite has suddenly become the preferred means of transportation after the ill-fated Dana Air crash which led to the deaths of nearly 200 Nigerians.

LEADERSHIP SUNDAY investigation reveals that the transport companies now battle  to contain with daily influx of VIP  passengers. 

The VIP wing of the  Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport at Abuja  as observed by  LEADERSHIP SUNDAY since Dana crash incident  records about 50 percent decrease in passenger inflow.

An Airline ticket  attendant in one of the Airline companies  on condition of anonymity said some days, they don’t  make up to  25% daily sales since the unfortunate Dana crash  .   

Some of the transport firms  visited  by  LEADERSHIP SUNDAY, Chisco, ABC and Ifesinachi transport companies  in Lagos, Abuja and other major cities across the country  brings to bare that transport companies on daily bases after the ill fated crash, record  more than fifty percent (50%) increase in their manifest.  It was also  gathered that  top government officials, high profile politicians and their relatives who ordinarily fly, now patronise  these interstate road transportation 

The Head of Operation of Chisco Transport Company, Chinwe  Nwoko affirmed that, “ We have witnessed an appreciable increased patronage. More than 50%, but it is not a new phenomenon. Each time there is a plane crash, the elite out of emotions  suddenly use land transport.
