PDP To Reclaim Edo In July Guber Race

Vice–president, Architect Namadi Sambo has said he is certain that come July 14, 2012, Edo State will rejoin the other South-South PDP-controlled states like Delta, Cross Rivers, Rivers, Bayelsa and Akwa-Ibom.

Sambo was speaking yesterday at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium in his capacity as the chairman of the 49- member PDP committee on the Edo 2012 governorship election recently inaugurated by the national chairman of the Pparty Dr. Bamanga Tukur in Abuja.

He said that Edo will become a PDP controlled state once again after the July 14 2012 governorship polls in a free and fair election where it will  be “one man one vote”, and so enjoined all youths across the state against being pushed into violent activities on the date.

The vice-president said he was happy at the turnout of the crowd at the stadium and extended the sincere greetings of President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, to Edo people.

National chairman of the party, Dr. Bamanga Tukur who introduced the vice president said that on the 14th of July 2012 the party will be bringing back Edo into the mainstream of South-south politics which is controlled by the PDP.

He said the party has selected a capable hand in the person of General Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere, rtd as its governorship candidate for the election because “when you want to win a war you go for a general”.
