The Enugu State Police Command, at the weekend, said that it recovered 46 assorted arms and arrested 81 armed robbery suspects in three months.

The Commissioner of Police, Musa Daura, disclosed this while fielding questions on the activities of the command since he assumed office in March this year.

He stated that six cases of cult related activities were reported and added that 28 suspects were also arrested.

According to him, a total of 19 car snatching cases were reported while 65 suspects were arrested and stated that 18 vehicles were also recovered.

He expressed regret that most criminal activities that took place in the state recently were carried out with commercial motorcycles popularly known as okada and gave the assurance that modalities were being worked out to put an end to the problem.

The Police boss added that his command in partnership with traditional rulers in the state had packaged a programme tagged ‘’operation know your neighbour in the state’’ with a view to exposing agents of crime perpetrators.
