The Katsina State Government has warned those conniving with farmers to sale tractors and fertiliser supplied to them by the government to desist from such acts. The government said that it would not hesitate to prosecute anyone caught.
Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema who gave the warning while launching the 2012 fertiliser sales at Danja Local Government Area of the state said the government was determined to ensure that only genuine farmers get the products.
He said that over 340 new tractors were recently supplied and sold to farmers at 50 percent subsidy to be paid back in ten installments over five years as part of the state government’s agricultural policies meant to boost food production and food security in the state.
