Multiple bomb explosions yesterday rocked Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, while security agents and gunmen engaged in a fierce gun battle.
Though details of the encounter and casualties were sketchy as at press time, LEADERSHIP gathered that security agents repelled an attempt by the gunmen to take over the Government House.
The areas where gun battle occurred include Sabon Fegi, Gwange, Pompomari and Ali Marami wards.
It was further gathered that none of the residents in the affected areas could come out, as the explosions and gun battle were said to be coming from different directions.
