Transactions on the Nigerian stock Exchange dipped in volume terms by 42.7 per cent on Friday as investors traded 137.39 million shares worth N1.13 billion in 2,967 deals.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this was against 239.79 million shares valued at N1.41 billion exchanged in 3,793 deals on Thursday.
The All- share Index, however, appreciated by 46.66 points or 0.21 per cent to close at 21,394.77 against 21,348.11 recorded on Thursday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation which opened at N6.815 trillion, grew by N14 billion or 0.21 per cent to close at N6.829 trillion.
NAN reports that Lafarge Wapco, Nigerian Breweries and Glaxosmithkline led the price gainers’ chart with a gain of N1 each.
Lafarge Wapco closed at N41 per share, while Nigerian Breweries and Glaxosmithkline closed at N101 and N22.50 per share respectively.
Unilever appreciated by N40k to close at N29.70 per share, while Stanbic IBTC gained 30k to close at N6.35 per share.
On the other hand, NewGold led the price losers’ chart with N90 to close at N2, 496 per unit, while 7up depreciated by N1.95 to close at N38.31 per share.
Arbico lost N1.30 to close at N24.70, Berger Paint dropped 47k to close at N8.98 per share while Morison dipped by 38k to close at N7.39 per share.
