Insecurity: Gombe Rescues Over 500 Students In Damaturu

Over five hundred students from Gombe state who are studying in Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, in Yobe  state,  have been rescued by the security operatives, following the continued violence that led to the imposition of a 24-hour curfew on the state capital Damaturu.

Addressing the students at the gate of Government House Gombe, the State Commissioner of Higher Education, Dr. Muhammed Wade, while welcoming the students thanked God and governor Dankwambo, who sent  about twenty Toyota buses escorted by security operatives to bring them back to Gombe.

Dr. Muhammed Wade, said due to the 24-hour curfew in Damaturu,  the students of Gombe state indigene had been trapped under terrible conditions.

Speaking, the President of the National Association of Nigeria Students, Comrade Usaini Baffa, disclosed that, the were under terrible condition in Damaturu, following the continue violence and subsequently restricted of movement which thrown most of the in critical condition of hunger and fear.
