The Business Manager for Lokoja District of PHCN, Mr Ameen Shakur, told newsmen in Lokoja that the disconnection, which begins on June 27, would last for 12 days.

He said that during the period of power outage, Ajaokuta, Idah, Ayangba, Ankpa, Dekina, Kabba, Isanlu, Egbe and some other towns would be disconnected.

He, however, said that Lokoja and Okene would be on partial supply from the sub-station in Okene.

He explained that Lokoja and Okene would be on massive load shedding and appealed to consumers to bear with PHCN.

The manager said that the need to ensure the safety of live and property informed the decision to disconnect the towns from the national grid.

Shakur promised that supply would be restored as soon as the contractors complete the job.

According to him, when the new 330KVA power project is completed, power supply to Kogi and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja would improve tremendously.

He added that a special cable was recently laid to boost power supply to Kogi East Senatorial District.
