The Nigerian police have extended an invitation to the crime reporter of the Peoples Daily Newspaper, Mr. Lambert Tyem, insisting that Tyem should disclose the source of the information he reported on the Special Task Force, STF, investigating the allegation of bribe taking by former chairman of the Ad-hoc committee on the probe of the fuel subsidy regime, Hon Farouk Lawan.

LEADERSHIP learnt that the police, worried about the report of parts of the SFT investigations, decided to get Tyem to explain how he came about the information and who his contacts are in the police.

They also want him to explain his relationship with some staff of the SFT office.

It was gathered that some operatives of the Police CID went to Peoples Daily in search of the reporter after persuading him on phone to come to the STF office.
