A total of  390 slots have been allocated to intending pilgrims from Ondo State for this year’s holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina.

The Secretary of Ondo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Raji Yusuf,   told the News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that this year’s figure fell short of  the 495 slots the board got last year

He also said the  Saudi Government allocated a total of  95, 000 slots to Nigerians wishing to perform the Hajj this year.

This figure, he said,  also fell short of  the 99, 000 slots allocated to Nigerian Muslims last year

Yusuf, however, noted that the  slots allocated to the state was not for indigenes alone, adding that  all residents interested could benefit.

The secretary said screening for intending pilgrims would commence within two weeks. (NAN)
