The Anambra Government has approved N1. 2 billion for the rehabilitation of 60 secondary schools in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Chief Joe Uzodike, announced this in Awka on Wednesday while briefing newsmen after the meeting of the state executive council.
Uzodike explained that each school would be given N20 million for the renovation of its dilapidated structures.
He said the principals of the benefiting schools had been told to submit their work plans to government within two weeks.
The commissioner also disclosed that all the secondary schools in the state would be given N500, 000 each to equip their libraries as part of measures to enhance learning.
Uzodike added that the State Government had concluded plans to re-introduce school sports from September as well as to construct a stadium in Awka to boost sports development.
``I will embark on tour of all the communities to see what they have done with all the money given to them by the State Government,” he said. (NAN)
