Discipline Makes A Polo Player — Umar

Young and upcoming polo player, Umar Mohammed has called on fellow rising polo players to be disciplined as it remains the only way to becoming big stars in the game. He said if they really they want to be established in the Kings game, they must be disciplined.

Speaking exclusively with LEADERSHIP SPORTS at the just concluded Bauchi Polo International Tournament, the 21 year old Polo player said he delved into the game because of the love he has with the horses. “This is my second year in the game of Polo and playing in tournaments. My first tournament was in Minna last year. I also played in Zaria, Minna again and now Bauchi.” Muhammad said.

Umar who was also the patron of NurulSuraj Polo club in Kaduna added that his team is ready to play in any tournament, be it national or international championship. I want to become a great polo player. l want to play like Bello Buba, Tijjani Hassan, Dan Gaye and many others” he said.

Umar said he appreciates the efforts of the Nigeria Polo Federation (NPF) in the area of support for beginners and called on polo players to support the leadership of NPF for the game’s development.
