Police Probe Ex-Militants, Bankers Over Amnesty Fund

Former inspector general of police and chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) of Universal Promotional Wrestling Federation (UPWF), world heavyweight champion, Mike Okiro, has assured that Osita Offor also known as will defend Ultimate Commander his title belt against America’s Batista and Bobbly Lashley next month.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of tickets for the much awaited heavyweight show down, he said they have perfected every arrangement that would ensure that the defence does not run into hitch, stressing that Ultimate Commander is undergone rigorous training to keep himself fit for his title defence. “As the organising committee, we will put in our best to ensure a hitch free event. This is Nigeria fight and Ultimate Commander is quite aware of the enormous challenge to do Nigeria proud. He has been training and I believe he has gone through rigorous training to keep fit for the fight and defend his belt title.

“I want to solicit for the support of all Nigerians towards successful hosting of this championship and make sure he retains the title. This is an opportunity for us to showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural value to the world,” he said.

Ultimate Commander won the heavyweight title, December last year after defeating WWE Superstar, Shelton Benjamin of USA at the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Offor who has taken over from illustrious strong men before him would be showing off his strength before Nigerians come August 14 in Abuja and August 19 in Lagos respectively. The preliminary fight holds in Abuja August 14, while the title belt fight is scheduled for Indoor Sports Hall of Teslin Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
