The chance of the Senate President, Senator David Mark to remain as the number three citizen of this country received a boost at the weekend as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in New York State affirmed its support for him to continue presiding over the affairs of the Nigerian Senate.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP SUNDAY, the Chairman of the party in the State of New York, Chief Olufemi Omololu Sanyaolu noted that there is future in continuity, saying that Senator David Mark should be allowed to continue as the Senate President based on the strong leadership and stability he created within the Senate and good working relationship with the executive arm of government.

Chief Sanyaolu said: “Under the leadership of David Mark, the Senate as the upper House of the legislature took its position as statesmen with achievement and records of services to the nation unlike the past administration where the senate was reduced to House of greed, selfishness, backbiting, fighting that led to having five senate presidents before the end of the administration, most of whom were disgraced out of office.”

He added that during the terminal portion of the late President Musa Yar’adua’s administration, the Senate under his leadership(Mark) was able to give the country a sense of direction, rescue the country from the hands of cabals by pronouncing President Goodluck Jonathan as the acting President, thus saved the nation from constitutional crisis.
