CJN Seeks Involvement Of Judges In Sporting Activities

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdapher, has urged judges and judicial staff to get into more sporting activities.

He made the call at the presentation of trophies, awards and medals for the 2012 Chief Justice of Nigeria Sports Competition held in Uyo on Thursday.

Musdapher, who was represented at the event by Justice Ayo Ariwola, said  that the essence of getting involved in sports activities ``is basically to take time off our official duties to shake off fat’’.

He lauded the high turnout, adding that the competition was healthy for the system.

In his address, Gov. Godswill Akpabio described sport is an important tool for enhancing health and promoting unity among people.

Akpabio, who was represented by the Commissioner for Sports, Pastor Ita Udo, said; ``Akwa Ibom is undergoing transformation and welcomes activities like this.''

The Federal High Court Team defeated Court of Appeal team 4-2 after a penalty shoot out.
