The Chairman of Northern  Governors’ Forum(NGF) and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has  said that the victory of Governor Adams Aliu Oshiomhole of Edo State  at the last Saturday’s election in the state was a victory for the north.

The forum in a statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Minna, congratulated the Edo State Governor on his victory in the governorship election.

According to the forum Chairman “Four years on, the Kaduna boy has not disappointed his people. He has constructed roads, built schools and resuscitated the economy of Edo State. His re-election is therefore a reward for service.”

The statement therefore posited that Governor Oshiomhole’s resounding victory shows that democracy was beginning to take roots in the country and therefore urged the newly re-elected Governor to use the fresh term of four years to consolidate on the good work he started during his first tenure as Governor of the state.

He advised Governor Oshiomhole to extend a hand of fellowship to those who were defeated at the poll, as only an all inclusive government can bring about the desired change for a better Edo State.

The forum Chairman in the statement thanked the people of the state for their continued belief in Oshiomhole’s leadership, just as he urged them to continue to keep faith with him.

He however urged those who lost out in the election to join hands with Governor Oshiomhole in the overall interest of the development of the state.
