Bethel Maduka of Jahi ll, Abuja, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court on a one-count charge of harassing his neighbour with excreta.
Police prosecutor Sani Yusuf told the court that Mrs Veronica Udoko of the same address reported the case at the Jahi Police Station on July 13.
Yusuf said the accused deposited excreta in the complainant’s compound and when she asked to know who did it Maduka accused her of dragging ownership of the land with him.
He said the accused criminally intimidated the complainant for dragging ownership of the land with him.
Yusuf quoted the accused as saying ``the owner of the land who was dragging this land with me is dead, and if care is not taken, you will join him’’.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 397 of the Penal Code, but the accused pleaded not guilty.
Presiding Magistrate Musa Jobbo granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety in like sum.
Jobbo said the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court, and adjourned the case to Aug. 15 for hearing.
