Four kidnap suspects were yesterday arrested in Nkpor axis of Onitsha, just as the Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi has ordered the sealing off  of Arthur Garden Hotel at Umusiome Village, Nkpor for habouring the suspects.

Obi who personally led a team of security operatives to seal off the hotel said that his government would keep working round the clock to prevent the resurgence of violent crimes in the state, and said that the boost in industrialisation the State was witnessing was as a result of peace and security that had been restored in the state.

The Governor said the hotel, would remain closed until investigations were concluded, vowing that once it was proven that the hotel actually housed the kidnappers, he would not only demolish it, but also confiscate the land.

Obi while speaking with journalists said that he got the news of the arrest at the Hotel at 3 am, and decided to personally preside over the sealing off of the hotel as another clear message to all those engaged in, or aiding and abetting kidnapping, that Anambra State was not a place for them.

Speaking about the hotel, the Chairman of Idemili North Caretaker Committee, Ralph Nnabuife thanked the Governor for his prompt response and assured the people of the area that their security remained a priority o the government.

Reacting, a resident in the area, Okechukwu Ejike said they were overwhelmed by the Governor’s prompt response and thanked him for his commitment to the welfare of the people.
