The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ogun State has vowed to woo back the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun  to the party he left about seven years ago.

The newly elected chairman of PDP in Ogun State, Senator Dipo Odujinrin yesterday expressed optimism that  Amosun will return to the party going by the reconciliatory efforts currently going on in the party.

Odujinrin, who gave the hint while inaugurating the chairmen of the 20 local government executive committee in the state, also said that all aggrieved members who decamped to other political parties would soon return to the party under his leadership.

With specific reference to Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Odujinrin said the new state executive committee under him had set up a 5-man reconciliation committee to bring back those who may still be aggrieved.

Odujinrin who was reacting to the recent statement credited to the ACN Governor in Ogun State that he was in the wrong party during his period in PDP, stressed that Amosun couldn’t have regretted being a legislature in the party that gave him the opportunity  to become a Senator.

“We campaigned for him, it was during the period of Obasanjo/Atiku Presidential Campaign, we used the name of Obasanjo to send him to the Senate from Ogun State, he now said he regrets it , he did not regret it then.

“I assure you very soon all aggrieved members will return to the party including the current Governor. As responsible leaders, we have set up a 5-member Reconciliation Committee to bring back all people who are aggrieved to return to the party, even the current Governor, is a member of the party and he is welcome to return to the party”.

Commenting on the crisis which has factionalised the party, the new chairman declared that his emergence as the new state chairman has ended the era of factionalisation of  the party, stressing that some aggrieved members have been congratulating him.
