The President of Dangote cement Alhaji Aliko Dangote has said production could lift the nation’s economy and not importation, pointing out that employment could only be generated through manufacturing.
He also expressed his desire to invest more in manufacturing concerns so that the teeming unemployed youths would be gainfully engaged and called all hands to be on deck to create jobs through manufacturing.
Alhaji Dangote who was represented by the Group General Manager Project of Dangote Group, Mr. Joseph Alaba, at a meeting with Ibese host Community, where he disclosed plans to establish another agro- sack manufacturing company at Ibese, Ogun State to complement Dangote Cement plant in the community with the production of sacks, said that other concerns like tomato paste company as well as Palm Oil refinery were in the offing.
According to him,” The construction of the lines three and four of the Ibese plant which will take the annual production from the present 6 million to 12 million has started in earnest.” even as he urged the Community leaders to give maximum cooperation to the firm just as it has done in the past.
He also assured the host communities of transformation as the level of commercial activities would go up with banks and other service providers jostling to have presence in the area.
In his remark, leader of the Baales, Chief S. Akinlotan, thanked Alhaji Dangote for his entrepreneurial spirit which has seen him standing out as a foremost local investor and who has been in the fore front of employment creation.
He stated that his council was out to collaborate with the Dangote Group in any area that it could, pointing out that the presence of Dangote Cement would benefit the indigenes.
