Katsina To Recruit Expatriate Medical Personnel

Katsina State Government has commenced discussions with India, Egypt and South Africa for the recruitment of medical personnel, Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema has said.

Speaking while receiving Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman who paid him sallah homage at Government House, Shema said that the recruitment was part of the effort to boost healthcare delivery in the state.

He also said that the government was considering proposals submitted by officials of the three countries and noted that the medical personnel would be posted to the new orthopaedic hospital under construction.

The governor who spoke through his deputy, Barrister Abdullahi Faskari, further said that the state government, in collaboration with the federal government, has entered into agreement with Germany for the provision of solar power in the state.

Shema, who enumerated achievements of his administration, assured that the government would continue to execute projects to enhance peoples’ living standards.

Earlier, the Emir had called on security agents to consolidate on the peaceful nature of the state by ensuring sustained vigilance and work for protection of lives and property.
