Sharks have suspended their coaches and players for allegedly throwing last week's Nigeria Premier League match against Wikki Tourists.
Wikki scored with virtually the last kick of the game to secure the three points that all but guaranteed their Premier League status for another season against a 'safe' Sharks.
The Bauchi club were leading 2-1 in Port Harcourt with seconds left to play when Sharks somehow surprised everyone, including themselves by scoring a game-tying goal in stoppage time.
To make amends, the Sharks team then practically stood around as Wikki went on to score the winner straight from kick-off.
The situation has left the State Sports Ministry displeased and on Wednesday, tough action was taken.
Coach John Obuh, who in a weird twist of fate, was with the Under-20 national team at the time, was inexplicably suspended along with his assistants.
The 17 players who dressed for the game were also given the temporary axe, according to Paulinus Nwankwoala, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, who announced the decision.
Nwankwoala added that a three-man committee has been set up to investigate the game, and a final decision will be taken after their report is submitted.
