Armed men suspected to be members of a cult group on Tuesday night killed two men at the popular Granduer Restaurant and Bar,  in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The eatery, which also has snooker, shares the same building with the secretariat of Federated Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state.

The incident occurred barely five hours after two persons were reportedly killed by suspected cultists at Okuru-Ama community in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the state.

An eyewitness told LEADERSHIP that the incident occurred at about 9.00 pm when some youths who rode in a commercial bus came into the place and opened fire on people who were in the restaurant.

The eyewitness said that immediately after shooting, the gunmen entered the waiting vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination.

When LEADERSHIP visited the scene of the incident, the proprietor of the eatery, Johnny Lulu-Barango said that immediately after the incident, he made a formal report to the Mile One Police Division while the corpse of the two victims had been deposited in the hospital.

When contacted, the police public relations officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Benjamin Ugwuegbulem said the command had swung into action to unravel those behind the killings in the state.
