Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday, laughed off the allegation of the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 14 governorship election in the state, Major General Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) that he lacked the qualifications to be governor of Edo state and stressed that his academic record will vindicate him eventually.
The Governor lamented that it was unfortunate that Gen Airhiavbere would descend to that level to rubbish and drag his name into disrepute.
Oshiomhole, who expressed optimism that he would be vindicated at the tribunal, said that his records at Ruskin College, Oxford will vindicate him.
Airhiavbere had in his petition, alleged that the Primary School that Oshiomhole claimed to have attended was not in existence at the time he claimed to have been in the school, and added that the Governor did not complete his Secondary Modern School programme.
When confronted by newsmen in Benin City over the allegation, Oshiomhole asserted said, “The allegations are funny because his military and political career was founded in falsehood. Ironically, the guy who is saying that I did not go to school does not know the difference between United Nations and the World Bank. He does not even know the difference between European Union and IMF.
“While he celebrated his being in NIPSS in 2008, I went to NIPSS in 1987. Assuming it is in his powers to destroy my educational qualification, my academic records in Nigeria and Ruskin College, Oxford are there. His claims are sad because he does not even know the difference between children and youths when he said he was going to create jobs for children rather than youths.
