The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Katsina has apprehended three suspects for alleged theft of PHCN cables in Batagarawa in the state.
The state NSCDC spokesman, Mansur Garba, told newsmen on Thursday in Katsina that one of the suspects was a PHCN official.
Garba said that the suspects allegedly removed four high tension cables, which supplied electricity to Tarno Village in Batagarawa Local Government Area.
He said that the theft threw the village into darkness.
He added that the suspects were arrested at Yargamji town in the council area with the items, adding that the suspects had made useful statements.
Garba reminded the public to ensure that facilities in their domain were safeguarded, adding that the suspects would be handed over to the police for prosecution. (NAN)
