At last the Super Eagles of Nigeria have beaten Argentina. They did that in grand style yesterday at the Abuja National Stadium by thrashing the Argentine national team 4-1. They produced a master class performance during the international friendly at the nations capital.
The Eagles opened score in the 11 minute through Ikechukwu Uche after a superb performance by Inter Milan young star Joel Obi, who connected Uche for the opener.
Nsofor made it two in the 26 minute via a penalty after Victor Anichibe was fouled in the penalty box. A counter attack by the Super Eagles produce the third goal through Ikechukwu Uche again to net his second of the night. Substitute Emmanuel Emenike completed the rout in the second half to make it four while Argentina scored a late consolation penalty in injury time.
With this victory, Nigeria has finally broken the jinx against Argentina who have beaten them three times. With the victory Coach Samson Siasia has maintained his 100 percent record as coach of the Super Eagles since taking over. Nigeria will now focus on the crucial Nations Cup qualifier coming up on Sunday against Ethiopia in a must win game.
