A former accountant general in Kogi State and governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Ubolo Okpanachi, has defected to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
He disclosed this at his ward in Ofakaga, in the eastern flank of the state, while declaring his intention to contest the forthcoming gubernatorial election under the platform of the party.
He noted that he had consulted widely before taking the decision, and enjoined the people of the state to support his aspiration.
The former accountant general further promised to operate an open-door administration if given the mandate, and assured of his commitment to the rapid transformation of the state.
He expressed appreciation to ACN stakeholders and teeming supporters for accepting him into their fold, and pledged his commitment to the progress of the party.
The zonal chairman of the party, Alhaji Hassan Omale, in a remark, assured Okpanachi of the party’s support to enable him to realise his ambition.
Also in a remark, the chairman of the party in the local government, Mallam Suleiman Daiko, saluted the defector for choosing the party, and promised to support him.
The former accountant general was later presented with an ACN membership card.
