Osun State Assembly has been enjoined to ignore the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the state parliament to begin the process of impeaching the state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.
Reacting to PDP’s petition to the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salam, a human rights group in the state, the Committee for Democracy and Rights of the People (CDRP), gave the admonition through a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Kamorudeen Adeoti, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo. He said that the PDP was crying wolf where there is none.
Comrade Adeoti warned the state Assembly not to do anything that would cause trouble in the state, and noted that since November 26, 2010, the Justice Binta Ogunbiyi-led Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan put an end to the ruling of PDP government in the state, the party had been looking for ways to cause trouble for the Aregbesola administration.government in which they will hide under it to call for the state of emergency in the State.
He stated, “I want the entire people of the state to be well informed that Aregbesola has been trying his best to bring the lost glory of the state back through the pace he has been taking since assumption of
office as governor of the state. I will also call on the people of the state to continue praying fervently for the present administration in the state to overcome all the evil efforts of the enemies of progress and development of the state.”
