Good things are in the offing for book lovers as two books, “Innocent Interrupted” and “Till Cheating Do Us Part” written by a United States- based Nigerian author are set to be presented to the public in Abuja. CHIKA OKEKE writes that the books are filled with larger-than-life experiences of victims.
The books provide readers the opportunity of getting a personal knowledge on issues relating to sexual molestation and a practical guide to relationship and marital bliss.
“Innocent Interrupted” is a 165 pages book while “Till Cheating Do Us Part” has 149 pages but each of the books comes with glossy paper back that readers cannot resist to buy and read. Printed in the United States, the former was published in 2005 while the latter was later published in 2007.
It is a must-read for parents and children but especially single parents who need to remind themselves that sexual predators are rarely strangers.
“Innocence Interrupted”, A Timely Tool
A lecturer in History Department, Trinity University, San Antonio Texas, Dr Anene Ejikeme described the book as a timely tool that will be beneficial to parents saying that it serves a public purpose.
“Chidi Asika Enahoro`s ‘Innocence Interrupted’ is a timely tool that will be of great use to parents everywhere. This is a book that speaks to us, whatever is our economic, social or ethnic affiliation because the author has written a book that truly serves a public purpose”.
Ejikeme who wrote the preface said, “The author’s multicultural background affords her a unique position to address these extremely important issues which knows no barriers of race, class, religion, gender or nationality”.
Why The Books
Enahoro said that she was compelled to write the bookbased on her feelings and opinions drawn from her personal experiences with sexually molested victims and conversation with friends, family members and clients who were victims of sex crimes.
Explaining the rationale behind “Till Cheating Do Us Part”, she stressed that having being married to a man and had tested marital vows even to the limit, she understands firsthand what it means to go through the throes of a breakup with innocent children embroiled in the middle of contentions.

On “Till Cheating Do Us Part”, she said, “It is a book about the triumphs of the human spirit as it conquers insurmountable odds amidst the human odyssey. It succinctly delves into the intricacies of forming and sustaining deep meaningful relationships with other human beings. It also provides a guide to attracting and sustaining the right life partner.
According to her, it prescribes how to overcome seduction and renew commitments with forgiveness and trust in mind. It presents tips to maintaining and solidify commitments.
The book reviews what constitutes a worthwhile relationship that deserves investing the required energy for maintenance. It is really a book about how not to throw in the towel at the first punch as it deals on how to give one’s relationship the very best shot for as long before throwing in the towel.
In the case of “Innocence Interrupted”, Enahoro added, “It explores the unique aspects of sexual molestation and child abuse from the victims eyes and a combined interferences from real life traumatic drama to examine the different cultural dynamics and implications of unrestrained human desires.
“It reviews the detailed real life experiences of some women from three continents who were sexually molested by different types of men while making concerted effort to depict the predators in a manner that will lend them access to rehabilitation.
About The Author
Chidi Asika- Enahoro is the author of several other books. A native of Onitsha in Anambra state, she is married to Victor Enahoro, the son of a late former prominent Edo politician.
A Nigerian- American who has lived and travelled extensively between the UK, Africa and the United States. She completed her primary education in Nigeria but secondary education was in England where she also attended a Finishing School for young ladies.
Mrs Enahoro has a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Quinnipiac University, Hamden, Connecticut and Masters Degree in Community and Clinical Psychology from University of New Haven, Connecticut.
She is an avid reader, prolific writer, motivational speaker and trainer. She hosts a weekly internet radio talk show on the Voice of America networks. She is a rehabilitation consultant.
This author holds various leadership positions in the US, a board member of several community organizations, co-founder and operator of a non-profit organization, a state of Florida trainer, contract manager and rehabilitation specialist.
Her working experiences spanned over 25 years traversing between Connecticut, New York and Miami.
Enahoro has a host of varied certificates and has provided opportunity of workshops across the nation on a variety of subjects ranging from professional ethics, relationships issues, cultural diversity, counseling skills, job development, management techniques, relaxation techniques, leadership skills, program designs and social skills.
Her marriage is blessed with two children; Tara and Ritchie.
