Malaysia To Host Agribusiness In July

With the crucial role of agriculture in global economy, the Nigeria-Malaysia Business Council is hosting the Agribusiness Forum 2011, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia from July 11 to 15, 2011.

Deputy President of the council, Dr. Michael Aderohunmu, told LEADERSHIP exclusively that the international forum on agriculture would attract top-level speakers and captains of agro-based industries from agribusiness companies, government agencies, who would discuss business opportunities for agro-food industry.

According to him, Malaysian local entrepreneurs would present their innovative solutions for agriculture and food industry. Commercial poultry, food preservation, fruit processing and storage, irrigation system, and rice processing would form the key thematic areas at this all-important forum.

The council chief appealed to stakeholders in the country’s agriculture sector to avail themselves of the opportunities the forum would offer participants.  

While extending the invitation to the programme to states, Aderohunmu noted :“ We are inviting you to this forum in view of the importance of your state in agricultural development and in ensuring food security for the Nigerian teeming population.”

The Nigeria-Malaysian Business Council was set up with the sole aim of promoting increased trade from all the sectors of the economy between both friendly nations.This forum is part of the series of programmes the council has lined up as means of fostering increased bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile the council has mandated Dudu Consulting and ViCapital Ltd to market and promote the international event.
